Volná noha
directed by Julius Matula, Czechoslovakia 1989, 90 min.
The Slovak jazzman Laco Déczi inspired screenwriter Jiří Šebánek to create the character of Ben Vichnár – the hero of the comedy, which was realized in 1989 by the experienced director Július Matula. Like Déczi and Beno, he is a trumpet player and head of a jazz band. He does not hide his pride in the fact that he can work and live "on a free foot". He thus rejects his landlady's daughter and a lucrative offer to play in the band of the popular singer Gábina Klein. This does not prevent him from putting his own freedom first in his life... The Slovak actor Marián Zednikovič excels in the main role of the nostalgic comedy, while Jiří Schmitzer appeared in the role of the hero's friend Emil Vidlák.
