Manon Meurt
Beauty, noise and trembling. Manon meurt are masters in the contrasts of quiet and noisy passages and in the epic gradations of their songs. On the ruins of the shoegaze pedestal, the band has spent several years building a base for their new sound, only to be able to tear it down and start again.
Sometimes half-dead from the confused silence of the time, sometimes completely overwhelmed by the impact of powerful concerts, during which everything was clear to them. Always. Now they are back with a darker, heavier and more complex sound, stronger than ever.
The quartet from the Czech town of Rakovnik has a rich concert history. They have toured around the whole of Europe and the UK, they played at ESNS, MENT Ljubljana, Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Pohoda Festival in Slovakia, Colours of Ostrava, Pop Messe, Nürnberg Pop festival, among others. Anyone who has seen Manon meurt live knows that it is a unique, powerful and beautiful experience.
Their first full-length album MMXVIII was released in 2018 and was produced by the legendary Jan P. Muchow. The album brought musical maturity and found a balance between fragility, silent or even intimate sections and dynamic jumps into noise parts. The record was nominated for the Czech Critics’ Prize Apollo 2018 and for the Anděl Award in the Alternative and Electronic Music category.
For their new album the band once again joined forces with a strong producer personality - British musician and producer Eddie Stevens who is known for working with Moloko, Zero 7 or Róisín Murphy. The new single Mirrors was released by Minority Records in November 2023. The new album will be released on 26th April 2024.
