Jour J Mental

Our approach is rooted in the currents of noise, indus and tribal  music, while reinterpreting, in our own way, the relationships  between voices and instruments, rhythms and distortions,  writing and improvisation, individuality and collective feelings.  Our aim is to open up a space for free interpretation and  imagination for our listeners, based on a noise sound that plays  with the whole spectrum of sounds produced by instruments,  but also the voice, feedback, reverberation... and silence. 
Our ingredients are: the combination of hypnotic, primitive  drums, twisting, skidding, twitching guitars, controlled feedback  that creates melodic veils, dissonant, whistling effects, and  vocals in French filled with a poisonous poetry that doesn’t fit  into formal frameworks or give away keys. 
In concert, this creates a dense, powerful, lively collective  emotion, but at the same time imposes nothing and respects  the interpretations of each and every one. Our aim is to take  you into a second, hypnotic state, through our sounds and our  words, but by the path of your own imagination. 

In short, Jour J Mental seeks to subtract rather than add. Streamline rather than overload.  
Suggest rather than illustrate. 
Empty rather than fill. 
Open spaces rather than fill them.  
To go to the bone of sound, silence and imagination.
